Joint venture professionals ensure that a company’s contractual obligations are met and act as a liaison between the land, accounting, engineering, marketing and legal departments of petroleum companies.

Created in partnership with the Petroleum Joint Venture Association (PJVA)* these specialized programs are designed to give you the skills needed in this rapidly expanding profession.

Requirements
Canadian high school diploma or equivalent or mature student status with at least two years of business experience. Students must have internet access.
Program Notes
CAPPA Level 1 - Introduction to the Oil Patch will be recognized as a course equivalency for The Petroleum Industry: An Integrated Approach.
The Petroleum Industry: An Integrated Approach will be offered in class in the Fall and Winter semesters; however classes that are specific to our Joint Venture certificates will only be offered in class in the Winter and Spring semesters. If you wish to complete this certificate in the classroom, you are encouraged to begin your studies in the Fall. (Schedule and registration available in June.)
Joint Venture online classes will be offered in all semesters.
Earning Your PJVA Administrator Extension Certificate
Complete all four courses (150 hours) in this PJVA Extension Certificate program with a grade of 60% or higher in each course, within five years.
Challenge Exam
Available to those with industry experience. Materials are optional and available at the BookStore. Passing grade 60% or higher. Challenge exam may only be taken once.
