Application and Registration

New Students

New students are individuals who have never attended Credit or Academic Upgrading classes at Mount Royal University or those who have discontinued their studies for a 12-month period or longer and wish to return to Mount Royal.

  1. Apply to Mount Royal University
  • Check Critical Dates for the application period for the appropriate semester
  • Apply online. Click on "Apply Alberta" and complete all questions as prompted. Select "Open Studies" as your program choice
  • Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your application to be processed.  If you do not hear from us within this time period, contact the Admissions and Recruitment Office
  • If you are accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter with your MRU student ID number (which you will use to access MyMRU), as well as advising and registration information

Remember: Open Studies students must satisfy Mount Royal's English Language Proficiency Requirement if English is not their first language and have the required high school grades to satisfy course prerequisites.

    You are now ready to purchase your books and attend classes.  Your books can be purchased online or in person at the BookStore

    To ensure an early registration date, apply early.

Continuing Students

Continuing Students are students who attended Credit and/or Academic Upgrading classes at Mount Royal University within the last 12 months.

  1. Find out when you can register
    Continuing students may register according to the dates posted online at MyMRU prior to the start of the registration cycle for each semester. 
     
  2. Register for classes
    Register on or after your registration date using MyMRU.
     
  3. Pay Fees
