Professional condominium management is increasingly important as more people choose to live in condos. The Condominium Management Certificate provides new and experienced residential and commercial condominium managers with the information, knowledge and critical skills required for successful condominium property management. Learn how to deal with people, condominiums and record-keeping more effectively.
The online version of the Condominium Management Extension Certificate courses have been developed with the generous support of Grosvenor Americas.

Online Course Expectations
The listed course hours indicate the estimated time for students to review the online learning units. The actual time spent completing assignments will vary depending on each student’s particular learning style and level of study skills.
Earning Your Extension Certificate
Complete the four required courses (60 hours). You must have active participation in each course and a minimum of 70% on each course exam to successfully complete the program.

E-Book: Community Associations: A Guide to Successful Management, IREM Publications. Approx. $40. Available at www.irem.org. Course registrants will receive an e-mail with a discount code to purchase the course e-book prior to the start of the course with additional instructions on how to download/access the online course material and resources.

Condominium Administration and Law - ONLINE
This course is designed to introduce the information, knowledge and skills required for effective condo management. The Condominium Property Act and related governance, by-laws and rules for condo management and condo association members are covered. The focus of the course is on the day-to-day operations required by the Act and other legislation for condominiums.

Condominium Financial Management - ONLINE
Learn how to operate a condominium according to sound fiscal policies and procedures to assure long-term economic success. Basic accounting principles, budget preparation and financial planning for the condominium corporation are covered.

Condominium Building Maintenance and Risk Management
Learn about the physical aspects of a building and how to implement good maintenance practices for condominiums. Efficient day-to-day building property management as well as the effective handling of emergency situations and risk management are covered. Practise problem solving and effectively communicating issues and solutions to the condo association.

Successful Condominium Management
Building on the knowledge gained in the previous three condo management courses, this course allows you to apply your newly-acquired skills to the day-to-day operations of condominiums. Develop strategies to confidently manage a portfolio of condominiums through case studies and class participation.

Saadat Keshavjee, CPM, CMOC - Instructor
Saadat Keshavjee, founder and president of Amhurst Property Management Ltd. in Calgary, has worked in all parts of real estate, from land acquisition to development and management of most sectors of real estate. Saadat specializes in the residential property management sector and is engaged in the management of single family, multi-family and condominiums.
Educated on three continents, Saadat has been instructing real estate in Canada since 1989 and has been a faculty member of IREM since 1996. He is one of five active IREM instructors in Canada and covers the ARM certification program as well as corporate training in property management.
Saadat has served as national president of the Real Estate Institute of Canada, chapter president of the REIC/IREM Chapter of Calgary, regional vice-president of IREM, director on the IREM executive council and the IREM International committee. He is currently serving on the advisory board of The Journal of Property Management and on the IREM Foundation Board of Governors.
Saadat creates and delivers courses for the Canadian real estate industry, specializing in property management. He is the creator of Mount Royal University’s Condominium Management Certificate and is writing a book on the subject. He was awarded 2009 Distinguished Faculty/Teaching Award (credit-free).
