Canadian guitarist Murray Visscher has performed for audiences in major cities in Canada and the United States. He is in demand as a performer and teacher.
He received his Masters Degree at the San Francisco Conservatory, under the guidance of renowned guitarist David Tanenbaum. During his classical studies Murray also performed regularly with Bay area jazz ensembles.
Murray received a Bachelor degree in music from Western Washington University. Other teachers include: Dusan Bogdonovic, Scott Tenant and Robert Strizich. Master class performances include: Eliot Fisk, David Russell, Paul O'dette and Hubert Kappell. Murray has also written a book entitled Music Theory for the Guitar.
Murray is presently on the faculty of the Mount Royal University Conservatory, and has served on the faculty of the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Okanagan College, the Nanaimo Conservatory, the Victoria String Orchestra camp, the Vernon Community Music School and the Kelowna Community Music School. He lives with his wife in Calgary, Alberta.
