The 8th annual FST Research Day will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 online.
Posters can be presented in one of two sessions: between 10:00-12:00 or 14:30-16:30.
Deadlines and Instructions
If you wish to present your work you will need to be aware of the following deadlines:
Abstracts Due: Monday, March 15, 2021 11:59 pm
- Abstracts should be 250 words or less.
- Abstracts should be reviewed by instructors prior to submission.
- All abstracts will be included in the FST Research Day 2021 Abstract Volume (date of availability to follow).

ePosters Due: Tuesday, April 6, 2021 11:59 pm
- Poster dimensions are 30" wide by 42" high (portrait view only).
- Ensure that posters have a 1/2" border.
- Submitted posters must be submitted in .pdf and ideally < 40 mb in size.
- If you miss the poster submission deadline, your poster may not be entered into the competition for awards.

Research in Focus Photo Competition: Tuesday, March 23, 2021 11:59 pm
- Submit a photo that represents your research.
- Must be a photo you have personally taken.
- Voting for the best photo will occur on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
- Submit your photo at: https://mru.ca/ResearchinFocus.
Online Research Day Format
- Students can upload their posters and optional ppt slides at any time; ideally before April 7th!
- Judges can view posters prior to and during Research Day.
- On Research Day, each session (morning: 10:00-12:00; afternoon: 14:30-16:30), will be kicked off with concurrent topic sessions where students can introduce their poster in 60 seconds. This is voluntary for students.
- Following the kickoff sessions, each student will join the video conference for their poster in the virtual poster hall on the Fourwaves website. Each poster will have a unique video conference that participants can join and leave at any time.
