Adventure awaits in this one-of-a-kind week of biking, hiking and outdoor exploration. Campers will build confidence, independence and a lifelong connection to nature as they learn essential outdoor skills through real experiences.
Campers will hike scenic Kananaskis trails such as Troll Falls or Heart Creek and bike to local destinations like Sandy Beach, North Glenmore Park, and the Marda Loop Pump Track. They’ll also enjoy an engaging outdoor lesson with the Glenmore Park Preservation Society at Weaselhead Flats. Along the way, campers will learn practical wilderness skills such as knot tying, mapping and orienteering, as well as how to start a campfire safely and build a lean-to shelter.
Every day offers something new, whether it’s tackling a challenging trail, fixing a bike chain or navigating with a compass. Outdoor Adventures is perfect for active campers who love to explore, learn and take on new challenges in the great outdoors.
Note: This is an intermediate-level biking camp and is not recommended for beginners. Campers must bring their own multi-geared bike and properly fitted helmet. Bike storage is available on campus for the week. Each camper will receive an MRU Camps t-shirt for easy identification during offsite trips.
