From declining revenue to managing a remote work culture, businesses are dealing with disruptions on every front due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Faculty of Continuing Education at Mount Royal University recently presented a free, online panel discussion featuring experts focusing on the economic, legal and people impacts of managing small- and medium-sized businesses in Alberta during COVID-19 and beyond.

Panelists included Todd Hirsch, vice president and chief economist, ATB Financial; Steve Eichler, partner and executive committee member, Field Law; and Steven Armstrong, author, speaker and leadership expert. Click learn more below to watch a recording of the event and read a story on it.

NEW massage therapy booking system
The Mount Royal Student Practicum Centre’s new online appointment booking system lets you sign in via Google, Facebook or Twitter, so you don’t have to worry about yet another username and password. (If you’d prefer, you can create an account tied to your email.) With the system’s My Account feature, you can manage upcoming massage therapy bookings, update paperwork and more. Visit the clinic website to book a massage in May. The $20 fee for a one-hour massage therapy appointment goes towards student scholarships.

Take in a session on cannabis workforce training

Members of Mount Royal University’s Cannabis Education Program — instructors, students, members of the industry advisory panel — took part in a recent Cannabis Forward online event. In addition to individual and panel discussions about the future of cannabis education for workforce development, there were interactive breakout rooms. If you missed it, you can take in a recording of the event
