Welcome to campus

Welcome to campus Spring 2022

We’re excited to welcome students in our professional development courses back to campus with in-person learning this spring. While some things have changed on the Mount Royal campus, others have not. As always, visit Student Information for details on activating and logging into your MyMRU account, using the Blackboard Learning Management System, Access and Inclusion Services and more. Here’s a quick overview of what to expect when you come to our Lincoln Park campus:

On-campus health measures

In alignment with recent provincial government protocols, wearing a mask is no longer required in indoor spaces on the Mount Royal campus; however, MRU strongly recommends you continue to wear a mask until the end of the Winter Term (April 30) as an additional layer of protection. Visit Updates & Resources for the latest information.

Please note, masks are still required for the following:

  • Wellness Services on campus, as their operations follow directives from Alberta Health Services (AHS).
  • Continuous masking must be followed for up to five days following mandatory isolation due to COVID infection for vaccinated individuals. For more details, visit the Province of Alberta’s isolation website.
  • In specific clinics, labs and classrooms where masks are standard personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Students completing practicums, work terms, etc. may be subject to additional requirements by their employer (e.g. AHS).

All members of the campus community are strongly encouraged to wear a mask consistent with AHS guidelines. This means a triple-layer mask — two layers of a tightly woven fabric with a middle layer of a filter-type fabric — a three-layered surgical mask or an N95 mask to help prevent COVID transmission.

Do not come to campus if you have core symptoms of COVID-19 or are feeling unwell. Avoid close contact with others who are sick. If you have COVID, follow Alberta Health Services regulations on isolation and masking before coming to campus.

The University follows best practices around the management of indoor air quality in line with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and follows all of its specific recommendations. Most importantly, indoor air is filtered at the maximum highest commercial level and MERV-13 (the level recommended by health authorities).

Practise proper hand hygiene and wash your hands frequently while on campus.
