Classroom and Online

This specialized program teaches the fundamentals of today's most commonly used PC-based operating system (Windows), as well as the most prevalent office software package (MS Office). In addition to technical skills, gain oil and gas industry-specific knowledge that will help you on your path to success.

Program Format

  • Complete the 16 required courses (222.5 - 237 hours)
  • Complete in a minimum of 1 semester up to a maximum of 5 years.
  • Complete your certificate in 1 semester with our fast track schedule, blending online learning and lecture classes. Available in Spring.

The Petroleum Industry: An Integrated Approach

This course provides you with an overview of the upstream end of the petroleum industry. Topics covered include history, geology, geophysics, hydrocarbon and exploration methods, surface land, petroleum & natural gas rights, joint venture agreements, drilling, completion, production, pipelines, reservoir/economics, and environment.

Accounting Principles for Computers
Learn basic bookkeeping concepts and explore the terminology needed to effectively use software such as Quickbooks and Simply Accounting such as chart of accounts, accounts payable and receivable, the accounting cycle, and financial reporting
Note: This is a good foundation course for those with no accounting software experience.
