Gain the skills employers need
Offered through the Faculty of Continuing Education, Mount Royal's micro-credentials let you develop and demonstrate specific skills that today’s employers need. Developed and delivered in consultation with industry experts and Mount Royal faculty members, our micro-credentials are designed to help you re-skill or up-skill and quickly enhance your employability.
What is a microcredential?
Micro-credentials allow learners to upskill or re-skill quickly and on a flexible schedule. This enables you to obtain the skills you need for your next career move and display those skills to employers. Micro-credentials are developed in consultation with industry experts and enable employers to see the specific skills you have demonstrated to obtain that micro-credential. Mount Royal offers micro-credentials in the field of Applied Machine Learning (AML) and Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting (ESG).
What can I do with micro-credentials?
Single micro-credentials can stand alone to complement your existing higher education credential or skillset. If you are looking to develop a broader set of skills, you may be able to stack micro-credentials to earn a Continuing Education extension certificate.
Each Mount Royal micro-credential is awarded a digital badge that you can share online so employers can verify your achievement. Mount Royal’s digital badges will be managed and verified through MyCreds™ , Canada’s official credential wallet for post-secondary learners and graduates.
What does MRU offer in terms of micro-credentials?
Applied Machine Learning
With MRU’s suite of AML micro-credentials, learners will gain the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills to support data-driven business organizations and leverage AI technologies. The AML micro-credential program is ideal for professionals in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), energy, technology, supply chain, logistics, aviation and more.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting
With MRU’s suite of ESG micro-credentials, learners will learn how to deliver the core content of a corporate ESG report, including analyzing and understanding relevant data. This suite of courses is tailored to those who want better visibility of an organization’s impact in the ESG arena, as well as those pursuing a career in sustainability/ESG.
Students who complete three micro-credentials in AML or ESG can stack those micro-credentials to obtain the corresponding extension certificate.
