Emergency bursary for international Iranian students

The Emergency Bursary for Iranian Students was created to provide urgent financial assistance to students from Iran who are experiencing serious financial hardship. Many of these students face unexpected barriers that jeopardize their ability to pay tuition and continue their studies at MRU.

The bursary is designed to offer short-term relief so students can remain enrolled and focused on their education during times of crisis. Recipients are chosen through MRU’s official awards process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and confidentiality.

This initiative has been made possible through the vision and leadership of Dr. Lida Shadabi, whose commitment to supporting Iranian students has inspired the community. Thanks to her dedication, and the generosity of Calgary’s Iranian community along with other supporters, this bursary is now a vital source of hope and support for students in need.
