Acquire the skills to stage vacant or occupied homes to make them stand out in today's real estate market. Learn about furniture and paint selection, staging for your target market, conducting an in-home consultation and writing a staging report, as well as business aspects of a home staging career. Apply the principals of "staging to live" even if you are not thinking of selling your home.

All required materials are provided as part of the listed course fees. There are no additional costs for materials in this program.

Introduction to Home Staging
Be introduced to the principles of home staging. Learn to clear clutter, optimize form and colour, and arranging objects in a visually pleasing manner. Create attractive compositions for photographs and virtual tours.

Home Staging as a Business
Explore advanced staging techniques related to home staging as a career. Look at the specifics of conducting a home staging consultation and working with a client for either a vacant or occupied home. Learn the basics of how to set up a home staging business.

Morag MacLellan SSDATA_CE_MACLELLAN
Morag is a European-trained interior designer and home staging professional. She graduated in Interior Design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, University of Dundee in Scotland, studying there full time for five years. Her background is in commercial architectural design, working within UK architectural practices in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Now based in Calgary, Morag offers independent interior design and home staging consultations. She has been teaching at MRU since 2010 and loves to share her experience and business philosophy with her students.
