Mount Royal University and Métis Nation of Alberta create bursary endowment for Métis students
(CALGARY – Dec. 1, 2011) Earlier today, Mount Royal University and the Métis Nation of Alberta announced the creation of a $500,000 endowment to fund bursaries for Métis students enrolled at Mount Royal University. The endowment is made possible in part through a generous donation from the Métis Nation of Alberta through the Métis Education Foundation.
The Métis Education Foundation Bursary Endowment Fund will provide bursaries to students each year in perpetuity. Five bursaries have already been provided to Métis students studying at Mount Royal this academic year through the endowment fund. The bursaries will encourage and support Mount Royal’s Métis students in the completion of their degrees.
