Description: The Department of General Education invites
applications for contract lecturer positions in
the area of Numeracy and Scientific Literacy,
commencing September, 2014. Successful candidates
will be invited to lecture in one of the following
foundation-level courses: GNED 1101 - Scientific &
Mathematical Literacy for the Modern World; GNED
1102 - Controversies in Science; GNED 1003 –
Innovation.

Since opening its doors in 1910, Mount Royal has

Duties: The Department of General Education delivers the
General Education programme within all of Mount
Royal’s baccalaureate degrees. The General
Education programme is organized around four
thematic clusters. The aims of those courses
taught in the Numeracy and Scientific Literacy
cluster are to “develop an understanding of the
nature and methods of subjects in the natural
sciences, health sciences and computer science, as
well as providing essential mathematical skills
needed for study at the post-secondary level”
 
Qualifications: Qualifications include a minimum of a Masters
Degree in Science, Mathematics or Engineering –
with a Ph.D. preferred – and relevant
undergraduate teaching and/or professional
experience. Qualified Aboriginal candidates are
encouraged to apply.
