Treat yourself to a massage in our Student Practicum Clinic.

Whether you need a relaxation massage or have a condition that requires a therapeutic treatment, our students are trained to the highest standards nationally and can meet your needs. This is a student-run clinic and a supervised learning environment. Fees collected in the clinic support our student scholarships.

Mount Royal University’s Massage Therapy Diploma is seeking participants for its case study course. The case study course is designed to provide an opportunity for students in the diploma program to understand the effect massage therapy may have on symptoms from various conditions or pathologies. There is no cost to participate and compensation is not provided. Learn more. 

Candidates needed for Clinical Practicum V
Do you have a doctor-diagnosed condition or pathology? You might be eligible to receive free massages. Mount Royal University’s Massage Therapy Diploma is looking for candidates to take part in a three-month study on the effects of massage therapy on everything from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder to Arthritis to Multiple Sclerosis.

Clinic Details

Students in Clinical Practicum I have completed their first semester and are performing 1-hour relaxation massages.
Schedule: Afternoons - November, December, March and April
Students in Clinical Practicum II are in their second semester and are learning advanced massage techniques. They are providing 1-hour relaxation massages.
Schedule: Evenings - January, February, May and June
Clinical Practicum III students have completed over 600 hours of massage training and are learning treatments for common conditions and pathologies. Students are providing 1-hour therapeutic massages (includes a 15 minute assessment of the client).
Schedule: Evenings - March, April, May, June, July and August
Clinical Practicum IV students are in the second year of the diploma and are learning treatments for advanced conditions and pathologies. Students are providing 1-hour therapeutic massages (includes a 15 minute assessment of the client).
Schedule: Evenings - October, November and December
Students in the second year of the Massage Therapy Diploma provide free massage treatments for clients who have doctor diagnosed specific conditions and are able to commit to a weekly treatment for an 18-week period. Treatments take place onsite in our student practicum clinic EC2120.
Schedule: Mornings,  January-May
