Education:
Ph.D., Statistics, University of Calgary, Canada, 2023.
M.Sc., Mathematical Statistics, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, 2019.
B.Sc., Statistics and Applications, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, 2016.

Fatemeh joined the department in 2023 after completing her Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Calgary. During her doctoral studies, she worked on innovative penalized variable selection methods focusing on dimensionality reduction of big data. Her research in this field led her to win awards and scholarships, including the "Alberta Innovates Data-Enabled Innovations" scholarship and the "Advanced Biostatistics" special award.

Her current research interests center around survival analysis, variable selection, semiparametric methods, and the analysis of complex lifetime data. In a broader scope, Fatemeh is keen on applying statistical methods to biological data, tackling real-world problems and seeking practical solutions.

Fueled by her passion for addressing real-world data challenges and drawing from her industry experience, Fatemeh incorporates applications into her statistical courses, making them more accessible and less theoretical for her students. She finds great fulfillment in combining her teaching responsibilities with meaningful research endeavours that have the potential to provide tangible solutions to real-world problems.
