Hazel Seong

Hazel Seong began studying piano in South Korea at the age of four and made her debut at the age of six. She received a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) in piano performance from West Virginia University. She also holds a Master of Music (M.Mus) degree from Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Kyoung-won University. 

Hazel has won prizes at many competitions, including first place in the West Virginia University Young Artists Concerto Competition. She has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist in numerous venues in Canada, the United States, Germany, and South Korea. She also performed in masterclasses led by renowned musicians such as Klaus Schilde, Patrick O'Byrne, and Yonghee Moon. 

As she pursued her graduate degrees Hazel held various merit scholarships and performed numerous solo and chamber recitals. Her previous musical activities include working as a pianist for University orchestras and choirs, as well as for music festivals including the West Virginia  International Flute Symposium. She is currently a collaborative pianist for the Amici String Program. 

Hazel is employed as a piano faculty member and collaborative pianist at the Conservatory at Mount Royal University.
