The  Sexual Violence Response and Awareness program is committed to educating and informing the Mount Royal community about sexual violence and cultivating a culture of consent and respect.

Workshops and education sessions are available upon request.  If you would like a specialized education session for your group or class please contact Cari at cionson@mtroyal.ca  

 

Sexual violence is a pervasive problem within society that has far reaching impacts for many.  Often when someone experiences sexual assault, the first person that they will disclose to is a person who they know and trust. This workshop is designed to give participants with the knowledge, 
skills and tools necessary to understand trauma and effectively respond when someone discloses a sexual assault.



Participants will come out of this workshop with:
    •    An enhanced understanding of the roots of sexual violence
    •    Knowledge about trauma and the impact of sexual violence
    •    Information about resources available
    •    Tools on how to respond to disclosures of sexual assault
