Psychology Department AwardsThe Department of Psychology at Mount Royal University is pleased to be offering three awards to students at the conclusion of the 2017-2018 academic year. The awards are for: Outstanding Honours Performance, Outstanding Achievement, and Outstanding Volunteer. Students majoring in Psychology are encouraged to review the criteria for each award and to apply for consideration (if appropriate). All criteria are outlined below:
 

Award recipient to be selected by the awards committee based on the following criteria:

  1. Honours students wishing to be considered will need to complete an application for the award. The application will include a statement of consent for the Honours course instructor to release course/grade information to the committee.
  2. The committee will consider students’ performance in PSYC 5110, PSYC 5120, as well as the grade received on the Honours thesis to determine the award recipient.

Who should apply? Students who will be completing PSYC 5110 and PSYC 5120 this year.
How to apply? Fill out the application form, and submit to the Psychology Office (EA3040B) before April 15, 2018.
* Please note - This award may not be given annually.

Award recipient to be determined on the basis of highest PSYC GPA (as of April 30) amongst graduating full-time (minimum 3 courses per term over the last fall and winter terms) students in Psychology who have taken a minimum of 12 PSYC courses at Mount Royal University.  Please note: students in the BA Psychology Honours program are not eligible for this award.

In the event of a tie, the following tie-break criteria would be applied:

  1. Percent of PSYC courses with a grade of A+
  2. Overall (cumulative) GPA
