Social Innovation

Social Innovation

This interdisciplinary program will focus on social innovation education appropriate to the complex and profound nature of the challenges we face locally and globally, thus providing thought leadership on questions of community prosperity, sustainability, citizenship and ethics.

A Future in Social Innovation
A concentration in Social Innovation enables students to pursue their passion, whether that means starting their own social enterprise, or leading social initiatives from within existing organizations. An incredibly versatile program, Social Innovation can be applied all over the world, in every sector imaginable.

Social Innovation offers many career opportunities:

Corporate Social Responsibility Management - Developing human rights programs, environmental programs, social responsibility programs as well as creating closer community connections within the corporate sector.

Community Support Coordinator - Building close connections with families and communities. Providing families and communities with access resources such as education, food, shelter, care and play opportunities and health services.

Marketing and Fundraising Management - Developing and executing marketing strategies as well as creating fundraising strategies that target existing and potential donors.

Student Clubs

Enactus is an international organization that connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities. Students are given the opportunity to participate in highly valuable experiential learning opportunities that significantly sets them apart from the average graduating student. At the end of each year, Enactus teams from around the globe compete in Regional, National, and Global Expositions to showcase how they are transforming lives and enabling progress through their entrepreneurial action.

Co-operative education
The Academic Plan of Mount Royal stresses the importance of experiential education in all academic curricula. Accordingly, we offer all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration program the opportunity to pursue their degree as a Co-operative education.
