Services, amenities and resources

Residence Services is committed to providing services and amenities that create a safe and healthy community. All residents have access to a wide variety of resources that encourage personal growth and academic success. Like you, we support your student every step of the way.

In-Residence

Our Residence Life team is here to make sure everyone gets the most out of their Residence experience. They take care of everything community-related, including running fun events and programs, answering questions, helping handle situations, conduct and security, and generally keeping people connected.

They're also more than willing to lend a helpful hand or ear. Should your student have a problem with a roommate, or if they just feel a little homesick and need to talk to someone, please encourage them to go to a Resident Advisor or Residence Services staff member.

Located in West Residence Building B, the Front Desk is open weekdays (and weekends during the summer) for administrative services and support. Residents can pick up packages, ask questions or submit forms.
Any maintenance issues – from dripping taps to burned-out light bulbs – are quickly and expertly taken care of by our dedicated maintenance staff. For their convenience, residents can submit maintenance requests online.
Card-operated washers and dryers are located in both East and West Residence. Funds can be added to the cards at each location using cash, debit, Visa or MasterCard.
Mail is sorted and delivered to conveniently located mailboxes in East and West Residence daily. For more about mail service, including your resident's address, see Keeping in Touch.
We recommend bringing only essentials and sharing items among roommates, however, current and returning residents can make use of our storage lockers to keep their belongings over the summer break, or just store seasonal items.
ResNET is the high-speed wireless and wired Internet network provided by Shaw that keeps our residents connected – whether they're collaborating on a group project or Skyping home. We also offer free on-site technical support for any issues that may arise. 
All utilities – Internet, cable in living rooms, water, heat and electricity – are conveniently included in Residence fees.

On-campus

Mount Royal's Monthly Parent Guide is a great resource. It details the stressors that students are likely to encounter throughout the year and outlines the resources that are available to support them.

Mount Royal strives to give our students the tools and supports they need to be successful in their academic and professional lives. Academic supports include Academic Advising, Accessibility Services, Career Services and Student Learning Services.
Wellness Services integrates a broad spectrum of services that address the wellness of students' physical, mental and spiritual needs, including a clinic, optimal therapies and counselling.
Full-time and part-time students automatically have access to the Recreation Centre – a 14,000 square foot fitness centre, climbing wall, salt water pool, squash courts and indoor running track. Located just across the road from West Residence and few minutes' walk from East Residence, your student can easily take advantage of fitness classes, intramural sports and personal training.
SAMRU offers Mount Royal students a variety of academic and cultural programs and services through the student centre, Wyckham House. Services include a food court, pharmacy and a dentist, as well as health and dental coverage. Programs include peer support, student advocacy, clubs and academic initiatives.
