We believe community prosperity is possible only when diverse people—students, faculty, artists, and community members—come together around a shared purpose.
Our work often takes shape in three ways:
- Convening & Facilitating
We bring people together from across sectors and disciplines to foster dialogue, build relationships, and align around shared goals.
- Experimenting
We work alongside others to test new ideas and approaches, sparking innovation and provoking fresh ways of thinking and doing.
-
Scholarship and Teaching
Through community-engaged scholarship and teaching, there are a variety of ways to connect with our work. MRU faculty are especially encouraged to explore opportunities for collaboration.
The Institute for Community Prosperity is committed to the work of Reconciliation. Our home at Mount Royal University is situated on an ancient and storied land that is steeped in ceremony and history that, until recently, was occupied exclusively by people indigenous to this place. With gratitude and reciprocity, Mount Royal acknowledges the relationships to the land and all beings, and the songs, stories and teachings of the Siksika Nation, the Piikani Nation, the Kainai Nation, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda Nation (consisting of the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney Nations), the people of the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Métis.
