Through lively conversations and deep reflection, the Literacy Lab’s Solutions Team shared their hands-on journey tackling childhood literacy challenges across Alberta. The Literacy Lab is a multi-year social innovation initiative that goes beyond surface-level fixes, digging into the systems, stories, and mindsets that shape how children learn to read.

Last year, the team uncovered three big challenges at the heart of this issue: The Overlooked Early Years, The Power and Inclusion of Newcomer Children, and The Isolation of Indigenous Children. What follows are the stories, lessons, and practical takeaways from testing early solutions to these challenges.
