Campus community update

Thursday, September 16 at 2 p.m.

Updated at 4 p.m.

In-person classes are cancelled through Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021. Online classes will continue as scheduled. All other on-campus student activities will pause for the rest of the week. We are actively working with the Ministry of Advanced Education to determine how the new rules announced this week apply to Mount Royal. We will share what is happening with classes next week as soon as we are able.

We know many of you want more information on the add/drop deadline. We are reviewing the impacts of the temporary closure on deadlines and will adjust accordingly. The deadline to add classes will remain as Friday, Sept. 17, 2021. The deadline to drop classes has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, as has the fee deadline.

Please do not come to campus unless necessary. Students should only come to campus to pick up their textbooks or rapid test kit (see information below), or get their OneCard. Employees should work from home if they are able. Everyone on campus must maintain physical distancing of two metres.

Students and employees have access to campus from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. via OneCard at most entrances, including East and West Gates and Recreation.

Textbooks can be picked up from the Cougars Campus Store in G100 on Main Street. Only people who have appointments will be allowed to access G100. Pick-up hours are 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. For those who don’t have their OneCard yet, a staff member at the West Gate Entrance can let you in.

Students in Residence can get meals at The Table which is open from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 and Friday, Sept. 17. Tim Hortons and Starbucks are closed.

Recreation is closed. More information will be made available soon.
