COVID-19 update and protocols

Implementing vaccination verification enhances Mount Royal's existing health and safety measures and further helps the University respond to Alberta’s state of public health emergency. In accordance with public health orders, MRU requires all visitors to campus after Nov. 1, 2021 to be fully vaccinated. This means you:

  • have received a second dose of a World Health Organization (WHO)-approved COVID-19 vaccine, plus two weeks, to be considered immunized. For example, if you will be on campus for an appointment on Nov. 1, 2021, you must have received your second dose no later than Oct. 18, 2021.
When you come to campus, you will be asked to provide your acceptable proof of vaccination and valid government-issued ID. Acceptable proof of vaccination includes:
  • Government of Alberta COVID-19 immunization record via:
    • QR code (saved on phone or printed out)
    • paper records from vaccination appointments or previous Alberta vaccine records without QR codes that show name, birthdate, and vaccination type and date (may be used as proof of vaccination until Nov. 14, 2021)
  • Provincially/territorially officially recognized vaccine record
  • First Nation vaccine records
  • Canadian Armed Forces vaccine records
  • ArriveCan app and valid international travel identity document
  • Approved vaccine verification through MRU Now (for those who were verified before Oct. 18, 2021)
  • Documentation of a valid medical exemption from an AHS-approved medical professional.

Please have your documentation with you when you come to the clinic.

Masks or face coverings are mandatory in indoor spaces on the Mount Royal campus, including the Massage Therapy Student Practicum Clinic. This applies to student therapists, employees, clients and visitors. Please bring your own mask or face covering. Review how to safely don a mask. Visit Mount Royal's COVID-19 website for the latest health requirements on campus. Thank you for your cooperation.
