Aaron Plamondon teaches Military History at Mount Royal University and is a National Fellow at the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary. Dr. Plamondon received his Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Alberta in 1998, and a Masters in War Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada in 2001, where he did a thesis on Canadian Weapons Acquisition from 1907 to 1953. He subsequently did a PhD at the University of Calgary focusing on defense spending, weapons procurement, and civil-military relations in Canada. He published "The Politics of Procurement", which focused on the challenges on acquiring military equipment in Canada in 2010. His other publications include articles on weapons and equipment procurement, the Canadian defense industry, and the evolution of tank warfare. Dr. Plamondon also currently works for Raytheon Canada as the Industrial and Technological Benefits Manager.
