Ran Ju, PhD, APR

Associate Professor, Interim Chair

Dr. Ran Ju earned her Ph.D. from the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University. She also earned Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). Her research interest lies in public relations for the public good, and she is particularly interested in social media's role in this context. Her research explores topics such as corporate social responsibility communication on social media, organizational mental health promotion on social media, and immigrant acculturation through social media.

Ran has received multiple research grants from different agencies, including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Zhejiang Academy of Social Sciences. She has published in various peer-reviewed journals, such as Public Relations Review, Health Communication, International Journal of Communication, and the Journal of Public Relations Education. She has presented at both domestic and international conferences, and her work has won several top paper awards from these conferences.

Ran is the Board Director (Education & Scholarship) of CPRS-Calgary. She is also a member of the Association of Education for Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) and the National Communication Association (NCA).
