Canadian Parks Collective for Innovation and Leadership (CPCIL)

A pan-Canadian Centre of Excellence that develops and connects emerging leaders, innovative managers, and engaged scholars in pursuit of the effective, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable stewardship of parks and protected areas.

The CPCIL hosts four distinct integrated services and programs. These programs include the Park Leaders Development Program, Training and Knowledge Inventory, Innovation and Collaboration Hub, and the Parks and Protected Areas Leadership Network. Park Leaders Development Program

The CPCIL will provide educational leadership delivering a unique learning experience for registrants in this program. Registrants include Parks Canada employees from throughout Canada. Each course will include a residency to be held in a different location annually.

 

Training and Knowledge Inventory

The CPCIL will maintain a training and knowledge inventory which students and alumni will have access to online. The inventory will include learning support, webinars, and other standalone learning resources.

 

Innovation and Collaboration Hub

This online resource will include communities of practice as well as case studies and park leadership stories in the form of blogs, podcasts, newsletters, etc. This resource will be further developed by the students and alumni of the Park Leaders Development Program.

 

Parks and Protected Areas Leadership Network

The CPCIL will help facilitate a network of leaders and mentors to support dialogue among park agencies. The CPCIL will also assist with the coordination of mentors among professionals.
