Sustainability Organizations:

Sustainability Development Solutions Network (SDSN) is a global initiative for the United Nations. SDSN mobilizes scientific and technical expertise from all sectors in support of sustainable development problem solving at local, national, and global scales.

Canadian Environmental Network (RCEN) facilitates networking among individuals and groups concerned with environmental conservation and sustainability in Canada.

The Earth Institute  is a research institute based Columbia University, NY., USA. Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey D. Sachs, the institute comprises over 30 research centers focusing on research and providing solutions in fields of public health, poverty, energy, ecosystems, climate, natural hazards and urbanization


Local Sustainability Groups:

Pathways 2 Sustainability is coordinated by Sustainability Resources Ltd. P2S is Calgary's sustainable cities initiative convening round tables on Sustainability to showcase and host discussion groups focused on co-creating a pathway to sustainability for Calgary.

Sustainability for Breakfast is a monthly event organized by REAP and the City of Calgary’s Office of Sustainability. The breakfast series provides a forum for introductions and networking among those engaged in sustainability and local initiatives.

Calgary Renewable Energy Meetup is a local grassroots group who meets on monthly basis on topic of sustainable energy including deployment of renewable energy technologies, reduction in energy consumption,  and energy efficiency.


Journals and Educational Online Resources:

Alternative's Journal is a national environmental magazine independently publishing  environmental journalism since 1971.

Online Education for Sustainable Development is a flagship initiative that provides online free education in collaboration with its member universities (totaling 200+ members) from around the world. The initiative's mission is to equip the next generation of "Sustainable Development Practitioners."

Coursera is an online education platform that partners with top universities and organizations worldwide. Coursera's courses on environmental Sustainability include but are not limited to: Pathways to climate change adaptation, Intro to Environmental Law & Policy, and Intro to Life Cycle Environmental Assessment.

Routledge Sustainability Hub is an online knowledge center for the global sustainability community. It offers a wide range of resources for everyone, whether you are teaching, discovering, or working in sustainability. 


Professional Support Groups:

ECO Canada holds industry-focused educational courses, certification programs, industry research, and recruitment expertise support for environmental professionals.

Alberta Environmental Network provides resources for environmental groups and organizations in Alberta while facilitating information sharing & raising awareness about environmental issues.

Young Professionals in Energy is an international organization providing a forum for networking and career development of young professionals in the energy industry by providing social, educational and civic service opportunities. The organization has local chapters in various major cities including Calgary and Edmonton.
