Dr. Tabussom Qureshi has been teaching with the Department of Chemistry and Physics at MRU since 2017. She completed her PhD from the University of Ottawa and moved to Calgary shortly after. She has taught labs and classes in biochemistry, general chemistry and scientific and mathematical literacy.
Tabussom's graduate research was focused on membrane protein structure and function in membrane mimetic systems using solution-state NMR.  Tabussom is very passionate about teaching and learning and has a keen interest in understanding how we can constantly better our teaching environment to help students thrive. In her pursuit of this Dr. Qureshi has started a few projects in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She is currently working on two projects. One is an independent study with the Mokakiiks Centre for SoTL focusing on helping students build problem solving skills in the classroom via guided questions for textbook problems.  Also with the Mokakiiks Centre for SoTL she is working in a collaborative project looking to understand how students learn best within group work.
