What’s included in the Classic Plan:

  • For $400 you could purchase one daily meal, a snack and a coffee or cold beverage 7-days a week, or two meals a day Monday through Friday

The on-the-go plan.

What’s included in the On-The-Go Plan:

  • For $250 you could purchase one daily meal, a snack and a coffee or cold beverage Monday through Friday
  • Receive 5% ($50) in bonus Dining Dollars (tax exemption not applicable)

  • Be entered to win one of three $1,000 dining plans for the Winter 2021 semester and one parking pass (valued at approximately $1,200)

Flex dollars.

How Flex Dollars work:

  • Load a monthly ‘subscription style’ plan in your preferred amount or make a lump sum Flex Dollars purchase in your preferred amount
  • On Flex Dollar payments $1,000 and up, receive 5% in bonus Dining Dollars (tax exemption not applicable)

How it works

When you purchase a dining plan, the funds are automatically loaded onto your MRU OneCard. The plan has a declining balance which means that just like a debit account, Dining Dollars are deducted when you make food purchases. Don’t worry, if you run out you can easily reload your plan online by making a Flex Dollars payment through your MyMRU account.

Every food item is individually priced. Dining is not “all you can eat” but the plans are flexible. For example, you are not obligated to purchase a daily meal and snack, however, your plan is large enough to accommodate this if you need it. This means that on the Classic Plan, you could spend $500 in your first month and $300 in your second, so long as you remain within your $1,600 limit. The same applies to all other plans.

To make a purchase, tap your OneCard at The Table cash register for contactless payment. You must have your OneCard with you when you make food purchases from your dining plan. If you don’t have it, you will be asked to pay with a credit or debit card. To help provide safe service, cash transactions are unavailable at this time. Note that dining plans are non-transferable. The cashier will provide an update on your balance every time you make a purchase.

How to purchase a dining plan

MRU Dining Plans can be purchased online through the OneCard portal. You can find it by logging in to your MyMRU account. In your MyMRU account, click on the OneCard icon in the top right hand corner. Follow the instructions on the homepage of the OneCard portal to make your dining plan purchase. Note that after you make your first deposit, you will be prompted to save your payment method. It’s important to do this in order to set up recurring or scheduled payments. The full balance of the Classic Plan and On-The-Go plan is due Oct. 15, 2020.

When adding funds to your OneCard, make sure to select the correct plan in order to receive the tax exemption (Classic Plan only) and your bonus Dining Dollars. All bonus Dining Dollars will appear in your Flex Dollars account after you purchase a dining plan. Funds will be automatically loaded onto your OneCard and ready for immediate use.
