About the Professionals
Peter Houston is an Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at Mount Royal University and has over 6 years of experience in the archives field. Peter completed a Bachelor of Arts at UBC and a Master of Arts in Russian History at the University of Toronto before returning to UBC to complete a Master of Archival Studies in 2011. Since then, he has worked as an Archivist at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Winnipeg, and as the Manager of Archives and Special Collections at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario. Since joining Mount Royal University in July 2016, Peter has worked to develop a formalized archives and special collections program to meet the teaching and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. He recently oversaw the move of the archives' holdings to a brand new Archives and Special Collections space in the Riddell Library and Learning Centre.

Jeremy Duffin is the Information Management & Privacy Advisor for Mount Royal University within the Executive Offices (Governance and Legal Services), where he has worked in that capacity since 2010 (8 years). The role involves advising the University community regarding Information Management Best Practices, Cloud-Computing Software Initiatives, Digital Records Management, the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Jeremy received a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Canadian History) from the University of Victoria (2003) and then completed the Master of Archival Studies program at the University of British Columbia - School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (2006). In the past, Jeremy has worked as an archivist for the Vancouver Police Museum, the Langley Centennial Museum and the Burnaby Village Museum. Additionally, other past work experiences also include the City of Vancouver, the Government of Alberta, Canadian Natural Resources and BP Energy.

Lindsay received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Mount Royal University and her MLIS from the University of Western Ontario. Lindsay has worked for many public libraries including the Irricana and Rural Municipal Library, and the Marigold Library System. Her current employer is the Calgary Public Library where she was first a Reference Assistant at the Saddletowne Library and now a Community Outreach Librarian at the Village Square Library.

Tina Barnard (Spence) completed her Bachelors of history at Mount Royal University in 2013 with Honors in American Religious/Political debates in the Civil War Era. She completed a Master of Information Studies (formerly Library and Information Studies) at McGill University in 2016. She currently works as a Medical Education Program Coordinator for the Division of Neurology at the University of Alberta.
