Kathleen (Kathy) Rettie has lived in the Bow Valley for over 40 years. She holds an MA in Resources and the Environment from the University of Calgary and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She retired from Parks Canada in 2012 after a lengthy career that culminated in her role as a social science researcher for the Mountain National Parks. Currently her research and teaching focusses on the many and varied relationships between ‘people and the natural environment’.
