Charlotte joined the department in 2021 after spending 6 years working in the pipeline inspection industry as a data scientist. She teaches intro-level programming in Python and C++ (and one brief stint in Java) and is looking forward to teaching senior-level courses in the new data science program.

Her research interests are all things signal and image processing, with a particular focus on vector graphics for creative applications. She is a sewing enthusiast and her current research centres on interpreting and manipulating digital sewing patterns. As a proponent of open source, she strives to create useful and accessible software for sewists and other makers while also engaging students in the open source community.
