Narrative CV
The Tri-Agency funders are shifting from competition-specific CVs to a harmonized narrative-style CV. This new Tri-Agency CV will be implemented with the launch of the new grants management system. Some funding competitions have already transitioned to using this new CV.
You can find out more about the Tri-Agency CV (narrative-style CV) here.
The new Tri-Agency CV is a free-form document, consisting of:
- Personal statement
- Most significant contributions and experience
- Supervisory and mentorship activities
The new Tri-Agency CV format is a significant departure from previous formats. Postsecondary institutions across Canada are proactively developing resources so that their researchers will have the support they need during this transition.
As a member of DORA, MRU is committed to responsible research assessment. The Tri-Agency CV is one way of implementing the principles of DORA.
The adoption of narrative CVs aims to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the research community by recognizing varied experiences and reducing biases inherent in conventional assessment methods and allows researchers to ‘tell their story’.
