Emergency Response at Mount Royal University

If you encounter an emergency on campus:

  1. Ensure your own safety
  2. Call 9-1-1 (9-9-1-1 if using MRU phones) for Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance) or ask somone else on scene to do so
  3. Call Campus Security at 403-440-5900 (5900 if using MRU phones) – or use the red emergency phones located on campus

During an emergency on campus, you may be required to take one of the following actions:

MRU uses a variety of communication methods to provide notifications, instructions, and updates during an emergency, including:

  • MRU Now app push notifications
  • Fire Alarms
  • Mass Communication/PA system
  • Omnivex Screens
  • Email
  • Twitter
  • MRU Website
  • Security personnel or Emergency Wardens on scene
