Peer Reviewed is a playful series that puts friendship — and curiosity — to the test. Two friends. One bowl of unexpected questions. Each round, the duo takes turns guessing each other’s answers before the truth is revealed. It’s all about listening, learning and seeing your peers (and maybe even yourself) in a new light.

Sometimes you’ll be spot on. Sometimes hilariously off. But every time, you’ll discover something new. About how we think, how we connect and how much there is to learn from the people around us.

Because university isn’t just about growing your knowledge, it’s about growing your perspective.

Kyla and Jordan’s friendly Q&A showdown

At Mount Royal University, connection happens fast. For student-athletes Kyla and Jordan, it started the moment they met on the soccer field.

Kyla is a fifth year Bachelor of Business Administration student, double majoring in Accounting and General Management. Jordan, a fourth-year student in a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education, is majoring in Sport and Recreation Management. Off the field, they’re roommates. On it, they play side by side: centre back and central midfield — pushing each other to grow, compete and lead.

But their friendship didn’t click right away. “At first, I didn’t like her,” Jordan laughs. Still, after late-night card games and long training sessions, things changed. Kyla was impressed by Jordan’s drive, especially when she found out she’d played for Bayern Munich. Competitive tension gave way to trust, and the two quickly became inseparable.

At MRU, their journey is more than just academics or athletics. It’s about discovering who they are, what they care about and what’s possible when you surround yourself with the right people.

In this episode of Peer Reviewed, Kyla and Jordan go head-to-head in a playful Q&A. You’ll see their bond, their humour and just how much two people can discover about each other, and themselves.

It’s time to surprise yourself. Go further, dream bigger and make your mark.
