NSSE is grounded in more than 30 years of research about effective practices in higher education. Generally, NSSE allows institutions to estimate the time and effort students put into various educational activities. It also captures students’ perceptions about the extent to which they believe their university provides students engagement opportunities.
By administering NSSE, Mount Royal can assess and improve the quality of education it provides to students. Since 2017, Mount Royal has administered NSSE on a three-year cycle.
