Rapid testing program

On Sept. 13, 2021, Mount Royal University introduced a rapid testing program for all students, faculty and staff members who are unvaccinated or refuse to declare their vaccination status. A vaccination declaration form was made available to allow community members to declare their vaccination status.

About the rapid testing program

The rapid testing program is a screening tool and does not replace an Alberta Health Services approved PCR COVID-19 test. Rapid screening cannot be used by individuals who have COVID-19 symptoms.


If you have core COVID-19 symptoms you must not come to campus and should contact Alberta Health Services for further instructions.


Test kit distribution and use

  • Students, faculty, and staff who are in the rapid testing program have received an email that details when and where to pick up their testing kits.
  • Participants in the rapid testing program are expected to complete their test and upload results through a form every 72 hours on Sundays and Wednesdays before coming to campus or working from home.
  • If a rapid test is positive for COVID-19, the individual must:
  • Testing waste can be disposed of in regular garbage.

Update your vaccination declaration

Students, faculty and staff may update their vaccination status at any time by visiting the vaccination declaration form. Random audits will be performed to ensure the integrity of vaccination declarations.
