COVID-19 updates and resources

Services and supports

Mount Royal University’s resources are available to help students, faculty and staff navigate the new teaching and learning environment by providing support and resources through alternative delivery methods.

Where to get textbooks and resources

The University Library

MRU’s Subject Specialists can be reached via email or text to assist students through research-based projects. Contactless pickup as well as digitization requests are available for students to gain access to hardcopy library materials.

Cougars Campus Store

The Cougars Campus Store is open for in-person shopping and on-campus pickups for orders placed online. No appointment necessary. Shipping options continue to be available for all online orders. Students are encouraged to place their textbook orders early to avoid delays.

Visit the Remote Services & Supports page for detailed instructions for in-person shopping, on-campus pickup, returns, shipping, order fulfillment, OneCards, textbooks, sponsored student information and more.

On campus dining

As of April 14, the Table at MRU will be closed for the spring and summer months. Please visit mru.ca/FoodServices in July for reopening details this fall. Select food vendors in Wyckham House remain open. Snacks and drinks can be purchased from various vending machines located around campus. When eating or drinking, please physically distance. This typically means only one person should sit at a table, unless individuals are from the same family.

Where to park and transit information

Parking is available in Lot 2 and the East Gate parkade. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes and then a significantly reduced flat rate of $5 per day applies. Payment is contactless using the HotSpot app (fees apply). Pay stations are not running.

Employees can purchase a parking permit for Lots 3 and A using the MRU Parking Portal. 2020/21 parking permits in Lot 3 and Lot A are temporary.

Reduced parking rates and available lots are continuously under review and subject to change. For full details on parking and the payment process, visit the parking and transportation website.

Since Mount Royal University will continue with alternative delivery formats in the Winter 2021 semester, the U-Pass program will be deferred until Fall 2021. Students will not be charged any fees for U-Pass this winter. For students who need to purchase transit passes, the Students' Association is offering 40% off the regular price. Please visit the U-Pass page on the parking and transportation website for more information.
