Student Rights and Responsibilities |
Students have the right to:
- To be promptly notified of a misconduct allegation.
- To have a voice and to be heard. The opportunity to explain his/her version of an academic or a non-academic incident
- To be thoroughly informed about any/all associated procedures prior to any official process occurring
- To have a support person/advocate of his/her choice present at all meetings with faculty or staff.
- To expect a resolution within a reasonable period of time.
- To be informed of and have access to the services of the Students’ Association of Mount Royal University (SAMRU)
- To consistently be treated fairly and with respect.
Students have the responsibility to:
- Ensure they know and understand the classroom standards in each of their courses.
- Maintain the academic expectations each course instructor requires.
- Uphold the values of honesty and integrity in all their academic work.
- Consistently conduct themselves in a respectful, professional manner - - in person, via telephone, electronically, via all forms of social media, or by any other means.
- Treat all MRU community members, students, faculty and staff with respect.
