I gravitated toward the teaching and nursing profession because I am inspired to help people discover their educational and health care goals and then find innovative and individualized ways to meet them. I began my career as a high school science teacher in the USA and also taught overseas in Japan. Later, I obtained my BN and worked as a nurse in Labour & Delivery, Home Care, Health and Community Services, and Long-term Care. After 10 years of working as a nurse, I started my MSN and began working as a nursing instructor. Combining both my careers in education and nursing has been very rewarding. Working in both the education and nursing fields for 20 years now, I still believe there are always areas for growth as we reflect and respond to changes in our community. It is with great gratitude that I come to MRU to assist in supporting our students.
