Doing Business In Brazil: Field School 2017

Trip OverviewStudent participants have the unique opportunity to examine how to do business in another country, particularly in Brazil. While in Brazil, students will be completing an international market research or international logistics project for a Brazilian company. Pre-departure instruction will provide a social, political, and cultural overview of the country in preparation for the research project and company visits that will take place in Brazil.

Note: Students will need to be available for pre-departure instruction in May prior to trip departure.

CourseParticipants will complete one course as part of the field school, earning a total of 3 MRU credits.

Application Process

Interested students should obtain and complete the International Field School Application available here or by e-mailing international@mtroyal.ca

Students should submit the application forms along with a one page essay describing your interest in being part of this opportunity to the Field School Instructor, Gerry Taft, in the Bissett School of Business.

Applications will be reviewed and applicants will be interviewed prior to acceptance in to the program. Successful applicants will need to pay the initial program fee deposit upon acceptance to confirm their spot in the field school.Program Costs

Field School Program Fees - $3,062.00

The Brazil Field School Program Fees include local ground transportation during the field school, accommodation, all course-related excursions, visits and activities, local tour guide costs, faculty expenses and MRU administration fees.

*Initial program fee deposit is non-refundable and secures the participant's place in the program. Possibility of refund of subsequent deposits due to withdrawal from the program will be assessed and determined at the time of withdrawal. refund of subsequent program fees are not guaranteed. Program fees do no include course tuition.

MRU Tuition & General Fees

MRU tuition and fees for INBU 3730 (3 credits) are in addition to the program fees and will be assessed to each student account in April, 2017. they are payable to MRU by the spring 2017 fee payment deadline (May 8, 2017).

Additional Student Expenses

Students are responsible for all additional expenses not included in the program fees such as return airfare, meals, snacks, immunizations, passport and visa, spending money, phone plans, travel health and medical insurance, etc. Estimates of additional costs are available from the instructor or the Office of International Education.Contact InformationGerry Taft - Field School Instructor
