Research

Energy metabolism plays a central role in all cellular processes. Overall, my research has focused on understanding the role of altered fatty acid and glucose metabolism in obesity, insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes. My current research aims to fully characterize the proposed metabolic switch that occurs during muscle cell differentiation. I am also interested in the cell microenvironment and the reproducibility crisis in science.
