Statement regarding transition back to campus

We can understand how in the transition back to campus, some people are concerned about their health and well-being.

Mount Royal strongly encourages vaccination among the campus community because based on science it’s the best way to protect individuals and the community. The University is working to have vaccination opportunities on campus early in the fall semester.

There are many signs of change when it comes to requirements for people to disclose and/or be vaccinated. We are assessing opportunities for rapid testing, as well as other options like enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE).

Along with following all public health guidance, Mount Royal will require masks to be worn in all classrooms, labs and any indoor gathering of 20 or more people. There are also protocols to reduce congestion and manage the flow of people. Everyone on campus is asked to self screen daily and not come to campus if feeling unwell.

If there are individual circumstances, students can speak with Access and Inclusion Services or their academic advisor about options and employees can seek an accommodation on protected grounds through Human Resources.

The health and well-being of the campus community is important to Mount Royal.
