MR pulled together to pull off Degree Information Evening

The Degree Information Evening organizers are thankful for the help and cooperation from all the Mount Royal faculty, staff and students. Nearly 500 people received information about MR programs and services - about a 30% increase in attendance over last year's inaugural event.

"Degree Information Evening was a clear success and a benefit to our prospective students, their parents and guidance counsellors," says Susan Gottheil, associate vice-president, Enrolment Management.

The goal of the event was to provide prospective students with information about Mount Royal's baccalaureate degrees. As anticipated, some of our visitors had already been admitted to Mount Royal programs and were here to find out more information on specific course requirements, financial aid, and support services. Surprisingly, a number of our visitors were grade 11 students who are already thinking ahead to fall 2010.

"We think we were successful in communicating that Mount Royal is an accessible and friendly post-secondary option that offers top-quality programs and supports student success," says Gottheil.

"The campus visit allowed prospective students to feel comfortable with Mount Royal and to picture themselves joining our community."
