Mount Royal welcomes parents and supporters to attend Parent and Supporter Orientation on Tuesday, June 25 from 6 - 8 p.m in the Ross Glen Hall in the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning. If you live out of town or are unable to make the evening event, we encourage you to review the Welcome Guide as well as the remainder of the Just for Parents website.
ScheduleWorkshops5:30 p.m. - Accessibility
Did your student have an IPP or receive accommodation in high school? If so, this workshop will help you connect with Accessibility Services, so your student is ready for the fall.
Please note: this workshop has limited space and is for parents/supporters of students needing accommodations for the fall.
6 p.m. - Welcome and Your Role Panel
Our panel of transition experts will address how your role will change and how you can support your student.
7 p.m. - Wellness and Post-Secondary Students
Mental, physical, spiritual and emotional wellness is necessary for any student to succeed in post-secondary. Hear from two experts who will provide tips and tools for success.
7:40 p.m. - Stuff You Should Know
Registering for classes and knowing how to pay for them can be confusing. This workshop will explain the registration process, identify critical dates and teach you how to use student loans, scholarships or RESPs to pay for your student's education.Campus Services Booths5:30 - 8 p.m.
Mount Royal has many services on campus that are important to your student’s success. Several services including, but not limited to, Student Awards and Financial Aid, Parking, Residence, Wellness, Advising, and Student Learning Services will be available for your questions.
