Choose two programs

Your MRU application allows you to add a second program for no extra cost. Adding a back up option is highly recommended as it increases your chances of getting an offer and starting on your academic journey.

If you receive an offer to one program before getting a decision about the other, you can switch your tuition deposit to your preferred program later if/when you receive another offer.

Review admission requirements

When you apply to MRU, there are both general and program-specific admission requirements you must meet depending on your chosen program(s). Before you apply, you should review:

You will need to become familiar with how each of these requirements affects your application.

Applications dates and deadlines

Keep track of key dates and deadlines relating to admission.

Dates and deadlines

Consider early admission

During the early admission period, all applications are treated as though they were received at the exact same time. This means all competitively qualified applicants will be accommodated. At MRU, we actually receive most of our applications and fill many of our programs from applications submitted during early admission. It is an ideal time to apply and helps expedite the process so you hear back earlier too.

Early admission deadlines

Fall Semester: Early admission is open from Oct. 1 to Feb 1.

Winter Semester: Early admission is open from Oct. 1 to Nov. 1.

Once early admission has ended, remaining spots are offered to the most competitive applicants based on their date of application. If you wait too long to apply, your desired program may already be full.

Some programs have a Feb. 1 final application and document deadline:

  • Bachelor of Education — Elementary
  • Bachelor of Interior Design
  • Bachelor of Midwifery
  • Bachelor of Nursing

Note: Additional programs may be closed for application on Feb. 1 if they are declared full. All other programs are open until they are declared full or Aug. 29. For international applicants, all other program applications close on April 1 and have a document deadline of May 1.

Self-reported grades and courses

If you're a high school student currently taking Grade 12 courses, you’ll need to self-report your grades on your application. For each course, you can estimate your final grade based on your current grade or use the final grade from the previous level. For example, if you’re currently in Biology 30, use your final grade from Biology 20 as a guide for your predicted grade in Biology 30. If you think you can improve your Grade 12 grade, be cautiously optimistic when you self-report your grade. Once submitted, you won't be able to adjust this predicted grade.
