Originally from Airdrie, Alberta, Reid was exposed to a number of sports growing up. His passion for sport led him to attend Mount Royal College to play for the Cougar Men's Volleyball Team. Reid transferred to the University of Saskatchewan where he earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology, Sport & Leisure Management, while playing for the Huskies.

In his current role, Reid manages the Alberta Sport Development Centre - Calgary region focusing on delivering sport science services to Alberta's emerging athletes and coaches.

Reid continues to be active participating in as many sports as possible including golf, tennis, skiing, and camping. Reid currently lives in Calgary with his wife, Erin and two children, Taylor & Rylie.
