Big Bob’s BBQ

Come for the burgers, stay for the company … and the door prizes!

The Transitional Vocational Program (TVP) is thrilled to invite you to attend Big Bob’s BBQ on May 30, 2024. This fun, inclusive event is in support of TVP’s programming for adults with developmental disabilities and proceeds from the event will be directed to TVP student bursaries. There will be burgers (of course!), live music and valuable door prizes. Even better, the barbecue is an opportunity to gather and enjoy the company of the Mount Royal community.

In 1982, Mount Royal employees Bob Charlton, AKA Big Bob, and Stu Gauthier came up with the idea to hold an annual barbecue in support of Mount Royal's Transitional Vocational Program (TVP). Called Picnic in the Park, the annual event fast became a favourite on campus. It was renamed Big Bob's BBQ after Bob’s passing in 2014. A dedicated committee of volunteers upholds the legacy of supporting TVP while creating new connections and community.
